Mondi Neusiedler GmbH in Kematen an der Ybbs (Lower Austria) produces sulphite pulp. Most of the energy required for this comes from heating brown liquor in a liquor boiler. The boiler generates steam, which supplies the factory with energy. The aim of the project is to use surplus steam for other processes by increasing the efficiency of the lye boiler. For example, the pulp dryer, which was previously operated with natural gas, can be operated emission-free in future.Greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be reduced by 8,544 tons annually after completion of the project. The project is currently in the construction phase. Reference1.D.2 in the Austrian Recovery and Resilience PlanProject locations Austria
