Digitalisation of vocational training

This project will invest in technology and entrepreneurship classrooms (at least 600 classrooms will be adapted to applied technology) and will create a network of 50 centres for excellence focusing on research and innovation. This shall play an important role in modernising the business fabric, supporting the transformation of the economy and improving competitiveness through upskilling and reskilling.

In addition, the investment should contribute to boost business creation in strategic sectors and increase the size and productivity of SMEs. The total funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility amount to EUR 256.1 million and the implementation period will last from 2021 to 2024.

The specific project that establishes a network of Vocational Training Centres of Excellence (C20.I2.P04 in the approved Spanish RRP) is already ongoing. An implementation example of this specific project can be found at the Murcia’s Polytechnic Institute that has received EUR 1 million for its digital and methodological transformation.
