Digitalisation of the criminal justice chain

Digitalisation of the criminal justice chain

This investment, which receives approximately EUR 75 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims to improve the efficiency of the criminal justice chain by replacing paperwork in existing processes with digital means and by ensuring permanent access to relevant information.

This has been done through the development of a portal that enables victims to engage in formal communication digitally.

Besides this, improvements have been made to the portal that enables lawyers to access and review formal communication, and to the portal for offenders of traffic violations.

In addition, the digital handling of criminal cases in the category “Frequent Crime” has been improved through the introduction of Digital Process Dossier. Finally, video and audio materials are now digitally accessible to the police, the judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
