Digital transformation of education

This investment aims to support the digital transformation of education. It will provide funding for infrastructure and services, including content development. This measure is accompanied by a reform strategy to update curricula, rationalise services and monitor educational outcomes.

So far, progress has been made in two specific areas, namely:

1. Provision and installation of interactive learning systems: this includes the purchase of white-boards, laptops and projectors that will be provided to classrooms of primary and secondary schools. This activity is aimed at encouraging student engagement (e.g. gamified lessons) and improving student-to-student learning relationships.

2. Subproject 5 - Robotics and STEM learning infrastructure: 177 000 sets of robotics and STEM equipment is provided to schools across Greece to facilitate the implementation of the Skills Lab module, which includes robotics and STEM projects. This will facilitate the learning process through:

  • promotion of educational innovation
  • familiarising students with programming and technology
  • adding of a pleasant, playful, engaging activity
  • strengthening group work
  • initiation into problem solving
  • acquisition of organisational and project management skills
  • enhancing communication skills and other necessary mental skills
