RRF finances Romania's highway development, with a focus on the Lugoj - Deva section.

Integral part of TEN-T Priority Axis 7, contributing to the Trans-European Transport Network.

28.6 km highway in Timiș and Hunedoara counties, allocated 920 million EUR, aiming for completion by August 2026.
Implementation status: The contract for ”Design and execution of works for the major investment objective: Autostrada Lugoj-Deva (A1), Lot 2: km 27+620 - km 56+220, Section E and completion of Section D"" was signed on 14.10.2022. The works are ongoing.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides financial support to the development of highways across Romania.The Lugoj - Deva highway represents a sector of the highway section București - Pitești - Sibiu - Oraștie - Deva - Lugoj - Timișoara - Arad - Nădlac. The Lugoj - Deva - Lot 2 highway section is an integral part of the TEN-T Priority Axis 7 Nordic Branch (Corridor IV Trans-European Transport Network), it is located on the territory of Romania and is located on the territory of Timis and Hunedoara counties, having a length of 28.6 km. The allocated budget from RRF is approximately 920 millions EUR. The execution of works is estimated to be finalized in August 2026.
