Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.The project is part of this investment.The present project represents the first part of a wide program of works that the Metropolitan City of Turin is planning for the seismic adjustment and the technical and functional updating of the Istituto Superiore I.I.S.G. Dalmasso, located in the Municipality of Pianezza (TO), Via Claviere n. 10, pursuant to the Technical Regulations for Construction D.M. 17 January 2018 integrated with the Circular 21 January 2019 n. 7.The part of the structure subject to this contract represents a portion of the school complex located in a radial position with respect to the main body.The project aims to increase the resistance of the existing portion of the building to the dynamic actions of the site.From a structural point of view, the planned measures can be summarised as follows: demolition of the projecting balcony at all levels and the roof covering; demolition of the two reinforced concrete safety ladders and their metal remaking in a central position between the 2 new partitions made at the head; formation of the fire escape stairs made of reinforced concrete of dimensions ari a 6,58 x 4.00 meters, with a thickness of 40 cm; construction of n. 2 sets of stiffening of the head in c.a.; construction of n. 8 side stiffening septa in c.a.; demolition of n. 7 pillars and their remaking with appropriate separation from the neighboring structure; demolition of the existing pitched roof with solid wood structure and sealing layer in tiles and its remaking with laminated wood elements and sealing layer with corrugated sheet.Top 100 recipients:CITTÀ METROPOLITANA DI TORINO Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino ReferenceM4C1Project locations Italy EU contribution€4 400 000 000
