Cycle link via Ghiaie - via Sanseverino

Investment in soft mobility (National Plan of Cycle Path)  (Mission 2, Component 2, Investment 4.1)

Italy’s Recovery and resilience plan provides for the construction of at least 565 km of cycling lanes in metropolitan areas and at least 746 km of tourist cycle paths.

Cycle paths shall facilitate first-mile and last-mile commuting – connecting locations in metropolitan areas to nearby railway or metro nodes, or universities to nearby railway or metro nodes.

The eligible tourist cycle paths are defined in Law no. 208 of 28 December 2015.

For this investment, the NRRP provides EUR 467 million at the national level.

As part of this investment, the project aims to build a new section of cycle path along Via del Maso Smalz, with the purpose of connecting the cycle path in Via Ghiaie with the cycle-pedestrian path along Via Sanseverino, for a total length of about 400 metres.

Towards Via Ghiaie two one-way 175-metre-long cycle lanes will be built, while towards Via da Sanseverino a two-way 225-metre-long cycle lane will be created.

The NRRP funds allocated to this project amount to EUR 222.947.
