The National Security Law considers cyberspace as an area of special interest for National Security, requiring, therefore, specific attention, as it is a basic element to preserve the rights and freedoms and the welfare of citizens, as well as to guarantee the supply of essential services and resources. On March 29, the Council of Ministers approved the National Cybersecurity Plan whose main objective is to specify, through specific actions and projects, for the next three years, measures included in the National Cybersecurity Strategy 2019. The text of the National Cybersecurity Plan was presented at the meeting held by the National Security Council on November 18, 2021, and reported favorably; having been updated after the approval of the National Security Strategy 2021. The Plan contains more than 130 actions, the implementation of which amounts to a total of 1 billion euros. An important part of them have already been awarded their financing. The rest will be implemented in the coming years, once the necessary economic resources are available. A large part of the measures included in the plan are linked to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. To date, this plan is the most ambitious state initiative carried out in Spain in the field of Cybersecurity.
