The project is financed with EUR 1,8 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility. The "V. Aprilov" primary school in Isperih, with its 593 students is one of the largest not only in Isperih municipality, but also in Razgrad region. Until 2017-2018, classes are held in the 2 buildings of the school - old and new, then due to a decrease in the number of students, they are held mainly in the new building. It is on the 4th floor and has 42 classrooms. The training takes place in one shift, and after lunch there are study rooms and interest-based activities. The planned complex of measures in the project proposal is aimed at improving the material base and energy-efficient characteristics of the two buildings. After the implementation of the planned measures, better quality, safe and healthy conditions of learning, upbringing and socialization of all students and their teachers will be guaranteed. The construction of an accessible architectural environment will give an equal chance to all learners and help the faster adaptation of children from vulnerable groups. The project also includes comprehensive interior solutions and measures for the conversion of the second floor of the old building into a STEM center. Offices for informatics, computer and information technologies and for theoretical and experimental training in natural sciences will be built. Additional spaces for a multi-purpose hall and vestibule with areas for recreation and exhibition, group activities and communication are also planned. Creating a STEM environment will increase digital literacy and motivation to learn and encourage interest and skill development in the disciplines and fields related to natural and IT sciences, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship for their practical application. The investments will support the introduction of new teaching methods, increasing the qualifications of pedagogical specialists, creating and implementing new educational content in the direction of integrating the subject areas of STEM.Additional links:https://2020.eufunds.bg/… ReferenceC1.I2Project locations Bulgaria EU contribution€1 800 000 Project websiteModernisation of educational infrastructure
