School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.

In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.

Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.

The project consisting in structural interventions is part of this investment.

The National Boarding School "Umberto I" is housed in the building of historical interest located in Via Bligny 1 bis in Turin.

The complex has been monitored for anti-scale checks of the floors and detachments of plaster, in all the premises under the authority.

The areas detected at risk will be the subject of safety measures, through the construction of networks and false ceilings anti-melting.

The systems meet the minimum environmental criteria and the provisions necessary to obtain legal certification.

The interventions have been entrusted and the estimated time for execution is three months from the beginning of the work.
