Construction, upgrading, reconstruction and equipping of kindergartens: Koprivnica-Križevci County

This investment, which receives EUR 215 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims to support access to early childhood education and care in Croatia.

It includes the construction of new kindergarten facilities and the renovation of existing ones, with the objective to create 22 500 new places and increase the coverage of children who participate in early and preschool education from the age of three to the start of school from 76% to 90%.

The investment is expected to reduce regional inequalities and enable access to quality education for all children in Croatia, regardless of socioeconomic status.

This investment is based on the results of a needs’ analysis, which took into account existing infrastructure capacity and demographic developments.

Investments will take place at local level, with cities and municipalities participating in calls for the realisation of projects in their territory.
