Construction of a new crèche in Nagykőrös

As part of the project, the expansion of the Nagykőrös City Nursery was carried out with the help of RRF funding, supported by the European Union and the Hungarian Government. The existing City Nursery was expanded with 2 new group rooms, each accommodating 14 children, through an extension of the eastern wing of the existing nursery building. The expanded area includes a terrace, playground, and sandbox connected to the group rooms. The gross built area of the new section is 230 m², with a usable net area of 200.2 m².

The project included the construction of 2 group rooms measuring 46.2 m² and 46.9 m², as well as additional facilities such as an internal corridor (14.1 m²), a foyer-stroller storage area (15.9 m²), a changing-diapering room (8.7 m²), a corridor (2.8 m²), a caregiver's bathroom-toilet (2.3 m²), a dressing room (20.3 m²), a bathroom-toilet-shower (32.5 m²), and 2 storage rooms (6.7 m² and 4 m²). The new section also features a terrace, a grassy garden, and a playground, all on a total area of 1,480 m².

The construction works aimed at improving the energy-efficient operation of the nursery included the following: the construction of the new section, interior layout modifications of the existing section, external utility expansions, the installation of solar panels and alternative energy sources, accessibility improvements (including information and communication technology in the existing section), and the development of the terrace, courtyard, fencing, and garden. The building serves to promote the healthy and safe development of children in every aspect and contributes to making family life easier.

The municipality received a financial support of EUR 0.75 million for the project. The construction of the créche was completed in the spring of 2024.
