Construction of new canteen at the primary school Carella

Plan for the extension of full-time (Mission 4 - Component 1 - Investment 1.2)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the extension of school time, in order to increase the educational offer of schools and make them open and available to the territory beyond school hours.

The measure envisages the construction or renovation of canteen spaces for at least 1 000 structures to allow for the extension of school time.

Extended schooling hours are expected to have a positive impact on the fight against early school leaving.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1 billion.

The project consisting in the building of a new canteen in the primary school Carella in Piacenza in part of this investment.

The project involves the construction of a new building on the west side of the school in Via Labò, orthogonal to the existing building, intended to house the canteen, which will be accessible directly from inside the school complex.

The new space will be used by the 4 sections of the kindergarten and the 10 sections of the primary school housed in the complex of Via Labò and will allow to recover the teaching spaces currently used for the canteen service.

The funds allocated to this project amount to EUR 851.000.
