Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.1)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality. The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.The project involves the creation of an early childhood education center and nursery through the conversion and expansion of the existing unfinished building on Viale E. Spensieri. The overall design of the facility includes four sections: three for early childhood education and one for the nursery.The conversion of the building into a school complex with a total of four sections includes an expansion on the south-west side through the construction of an L-shaped wing with a reinforced concrete structure and the addition of a metal emergency staircase on the north side. The new structure will be connected to the existing building. In front of the entrance, a metal canopy will be installed to provide shelter and protection.The total funding allocated under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) amounts to EUR 1,770,000.00.
