Ensuring a safe living environment for dependent persons

The construction of the new Bella Vista outdoor living unit in Hrvatini will increase the capacity in to city of Koper to provide a safe living environment for people who are dependent on the help of others.

The new accommodation facility will consist of two living units. On the ground floor, there will be 12 permanent accommodation units and 4 temporary accommodation units. The upper floor will have 12 permanent accommodation units, which can be converted into a unit for residents with dementia and related conditions.

The new facility will also have areas for residents to talk, read and socialise. The communal lounge will also include a terrace. into an open-plan lounge on the terrace. On the south side of the living unit there will be a communal lounge with a dining area and a communal kitchen with space for care staff. The communal lounge will continue into an external open plan lounge.

The construction will be built to modern standards, using sustainable materials (mainly wood, cellulose insulation, etc.), taking into account the requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings and the principle of "do no significant harm".

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 2.9 million, while the total value of the investment is EUR 6.4 million. 

The project started in June 2023 and will be finalised by June 2026.
