Copyright: MVM Émász In recent years, there has been a significant increase in weather-dependent renewable electricity generation in Europe, including Hungary, which in our country is mainly photovoltaic (PV) generation. The increase in the number and capacity of solar plants connected to the grid requires a simultaneous/coordinated development of the other elements of the electricity value chain, as failure to do so could lead to grid instability, more frequent outages and thus the inability to connect additional solar plants. The present project aims to implement improvements in the service area of MVM Émász Áramhálózati Kft. that will significantly increase the technical capacity of the grid, allowing the integration of additional renewable generation units into the system, while at the same time increasing the resilience and flexibility of the existing system. As a result of these improvements, the volume of new solar generation capacity that can be added to the grid of MVM Émász Áramhálózati Kft. will increase by at least 221 MW by spring 2026. In this way, the project will contribute to the achievement of the energy and climate policy objectives set out in the National Energy and Climate Plan (NEKT), the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RET), the National Energy Strategy and the new National and Energy and Climate Plan.
