Central European Digital Media Observatory Hub (CEDMO)

With CZK 1 billion (around EUR 43 million) EUR 43 million funding, the Recovery and Resilience Facility supports the creation and activities of the Central European Digital Media Observatory Hub (CEDMO). CEDMO's goals are detecting disinformation, including through the use of machine learning, preparing digital and media training and materials, and developing fact-checking platforms debunking disinformation on Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, COVID-19 vaccines, 5G networks and other topics. Led by Charles University, it staffs a multidisciplinary team of technical scientists, humanities scholars, journalists and fact checking professionals to help the region’s fight against disinformation.
