The development of education is one of the unconditional strategic priorities, which is the foundation of the Plan for Integrated Development of the Municipality of Burgas 2021-2027. The ambition of the Municipality of Burgas is a complete modernization of the material base of the schools in the territory of the Municipality of Burgas, furniture, equipment, creation of innovative classrooms and schools, building a school STEM environment, improving accessibility and inclusion, which is the goal of this investment implementation proposal.Primary school "Georgi Benkovski", Burgas was founded in 1967 and during its 56-year history, the school has proven the high quality of the education provided through the numerous awards and distinctions won by the students.Over the years, from the establishment of the school until now, partial repairs and improvements to the material base have been carried out, but there is no completion regarding the overall modernization of the building and material fund of the school.The project, financed with EUR 2,15 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims to modernize the building of the educational institution and turn it into a favorable, accessible and motivating environment, leading to an increase in potential and creative thinking, with the aim of increasing the quality of educational results.As a result of identified needs to modernize the building stock of the institution, improve the energy efficiency class and the comfort of living in the building and ensure the necessary access of disabled persons to and inside the building, activities are planned to introduce energy efficiency measures, internally and exterior beautification and modernization of the building, ensuring accessibility, ennobling the yard space and realization of new spaces for sports.Delivery of new furniture and equipment tailored to the needs of the educational institution is planned in order to achieve complex renovation and modernization.Additional links:https://2020.eufunds.bg/… ReferenceC1.I2Project locations Bulgaria EU contribution€2 150 000 Project websiteModernisation of educational infrastructure
