Boosting the smart and sustainable industry for wine and meat

Based on a consortium of seven companies, three of which have facilities in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Lleida and Vic, Alimente21’s main objective is the research and development of advanced AI solutions in order to increase the efficiency of industrial management in the food sector, in particular in the meat and wine sector. In addition, the project aims to move towards a lower environmental impact from the point of view of water and energy.

The participating Cava producer Codorníu will improve its processes by monitoring its vineyards and production lines. Agropixel, a Codorníu spin-off, will provide technological support for obtaining data on the arrival of the grapes in the wineries and will participate in the installation of advanced sensors.

MAPEX, another participating firm, based in Vic, will provide manufacturers with predictability and anticipation in their production processes.

Alimente21 is supported by the Universitat de Lleida, the UPC, the University of Alcalá and the Gradiant and Ainia technology centres; technical coordination is carried out by EURECAT.

Vaccines against syncytial respiratory virus

The project benefits from the experience of a consortium of four companies located in Catalonia and Valencia and will focus on the design of a new safe, immunogenic and effective vaccine against syncytial respiratory virus (SRV).
