Biomass plant for a large-scale market garden

MERSCHL Gartenbau GmbH operates a nursery in Vienna and produces around 3,000 tons of tomatoes every year. In the future, the use of gas is to be replaced by solid biomass. 

The planned 6.8 MW biomass plant can be operated almost all year round and can provide the necessary temperatures for plant growth. A buffer storage tank and a CO2 capture system are also to be installed.

Greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be reduced by over 4,400 tons per year. The project is currently in the construction phase.
