Battery System in the Madeira Archipelago

As a whole, this programme, comprising the 4 Battery Power Plants located in the RAM, is part of the regional strategy of maximising the use of renewable energy sources, improving the efficiency of the power generation system and reducing CO2 emissions, complementing the current power generation system with the use of lithium-ion technology batteries and advanced power electronics, capable of contributing active power and usable capacity that will allow the optimisation of own generation assets and the integration of more “green” energy, thus increasing the share of renewable energy in the regional production mix.
