Copyright: IATES The IATES project, supported by twelve and a half million euros from the NextGenerationEU funds, brings together eighteen partners to address future challenges of the electrical system. The goal is to move towards predominantly renewable production, a digitized, automated network capable of providing bidirectional services to all user types, solving storage issues, and featuring an optimized design of various markets. Additionally, it aims to promote user participation in new electricity consumption models. The project involves two leading national companies in the energy sector and digitization, Iberdrola and Indra, along with universities and research centers with advanced programs and international references in artificial intelligence (AI). There are also nine SMEs with prior experience in AI. Balantia, a company based in Palma and recognized as the best SME 2023 in the Balearic Islands in innovation and digitization, participates in the project by constructing a Simulation and Testing Hub for energy solutions tailored to the domestic sphere.
