5.4 Expanded School Sector Pathfinder Decarbonisation and Retrofit Programme

The Expanded School Sector Pathfinder Decarbonisation Programme and the Energy Inventory Profile of Schools Programme will benefit from REPowerEU funding of €81m. 

The Expanded School Sector Pathfinder Programme will deliver strong energy efficiency and decarbonisation to a minimum of 20 schools, targeting as a minimum a 30% reduction per school in primary energy.

The funding wil also facilitate completion of the schools energy inventory of all schools across Ireland. The data collected by this programme will enable identification and targeted development of future school sector energy and decarbonisation programmes that will reduce overall reliance on fossil fuels and accelerate the deployment of renewable energy.
