The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the biggest event dedicated to renewables and energy efficiency use in Europe, promotes outstanding innovation on energy with the EU Sustainable Energy Awards competition. Tackling sustainability in a broader sense, this year’s award recognises the most successful energy projects in three different categories Engagement – focusing on activities with a high social value which inspires and motivates citizens to change their energy habits Innovation – honouring outstanding EU-funded events that show an original and innovative approach to the sustainable energy transition Youth – identifying exceptional activities carried out by people under 30 Anyone in the EU can submit a recent project, like a local initiative or an industry-wide programme, which helps citizens, industry and public sector work towards a clean and sustainable energy future. The finalists are drawn from a shortlist and will be awarded by an expert jury and by European citizens via a public vote. The prizing ceremony takes places in Brussels on 23 June, as part of EUSEW. To enter the competition, read the guidelines and apply by 10 February (extended deadline). Registration to the awards ceremony will be launched in April 2020.
