The next EU Energy Day will take place on 16 November 2017 in Bonn, Germany, as part of the COP 23 UN Climate Change Conference. Its main theme is the potential of clean energy solutions for decarbonisation, economic growth and jobs. The event will begin with a high-level panel on the progress of the clean energy transition in Europe and globally, attended by European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete and Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation Bertrand Piccard. There will also be panels on the European Commission's Clean Energy for EU Islands initiative and on clean energy cooperation between Africa and the EU. Representatives of national and local governments, the renewable energy industry, academia and development agencies will share best practice and discuss how clean energy can boost local economies and create jobs.
