Commissioner Simson in Ireland to discuss energy policy with local authorities and stakeholders

As of today, Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, will be in Ireland for two days to engage with local actors on the EU's energy policy and, in particular, the recently proposed REPowerEU plan.

On Thursday, she will meet with the Irish Minister for Environment, Climate, Communications and Transport, Eamon Ryan, and the Oireachtas' (Parliament's) Committee on Environment and Climate Action. Later in the day, the Commissioner will participate in a roundtable with energy stakeholders.

On Friday, she will visit EU-funded green energy projects in county Offaly and participate in the opening ceremony of Ireland's first green hydrogen production facility. While in the country, the Commissioner will also meet with the Taoiseach of Ireland, Michéal Martin.
