Commissioner Kadri Simson travels to Spain for official visit

Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, started this morning a 2-day trip to Spain participating at the Forum Nueva Economía working breakfast on ‘Challenges and Opportunities of the Clean Energy Transition'. She also meets this morning with Teresa Ribera, third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Ecologic Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain, to discuss renewable energy deployment, the EU hydrogen strategy, energy prices, and security of energy supply. The meeting will be followed by a joint press point, which is available to journalists in Madrid and which will be broadcast later on EbS.

Later today, the Commissioner will visit Elewit, the technological platform of the ‘Red Eléctrica' Group, the Electricity Control Centre (CECOEL) and the Renewable Energy Control Centre (ERCC). She will also hold meetings with young entrepreneurs in the field of energy innovation and household consumer associations; and attend a working dinner with energy stakeholders.

On Tuesday, Commissioner Simson will take part in a meeting of the Joint Committee for the European Union of the Spanish Parliament and meet its President, Susana Sumelzo. Audiovisual coverage will be available on EbS.
