Literary versus Non-Literary Translation in the Age of Technology

TEW on translator training and translation tools

This TEW will take place at the ''Iasi International Festival of Literature and Translation'' (FILIT) and will focus on machine translation. The DGT Field Officer in Romania will give a hands-on workshop on understanding Neural Machine Translation output in a literary and non-literary translation context together with Mrs Anda Boțoiu, English teacher at Iasi National College. Mrs Iulia Badea-Gueritée, a journalist and translator working with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Paris and Courrier International, and Mr Bogdan GHIU, writer, journalist, translator and translation theorist will talk about what it takes to be a good journalist and translator and about translation as an important tool to disseminate information globally.
