Creation of a network of regional mentoring centres to support curriculum reform

(Reference SK-C[C7]-R[R2]-M[M5]: in the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan)

The objective of this investment is to support the development of new learning curricula, to be introduced in primary and lower-secondary levels of education as of the school year 2023 (on a voluntary basis) and in all primary schools in 2026 (on a mandatory basis). The reform will be supported by the creation of 40 regional centers to provide mentoring, counselling and consultation activities. The centers will be comprised of teachers, school directors and experts, providing trainings for participating teachers. Additionally, new textbooks are developed and teachers’ skills in areas such as digital are strengthened.

In 2022, 16 regional centres were created.

The new industrial decarbonisation scheme

(reference SK-C[C4]-R[R2]-T[] and SK- C[C4]-I[I1]-T[]: in the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan)

The Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan includes a decarbonisation scheme for the industrial sector and the related investments aim to lower greenhouse gas emissions in enterprises through a higher uptake of innovative environmental technologies.

On 25 November 2022, the Slovak Ministry of the Environment announced a call for proposals aimed at the decarbonisation of industry with a total allocation of EUR 357 million (open until 20 January 2023), fully financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility. The completion of all industry decarbonisation projects is expected by June 2026, delivering a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of at least a 1.2 Mt of CO2 equivalent.
