European Commission (EC) Library

The EC Library connects Commission staff with data, information and knowledge to support them in developing evidence-based policies for the benefit of EU citizens whilst also providing to anyone interested a unique insight into the history of EU integration.

Responsibilities

The mission of the European Commission (EC) Library is to provide a modern library service offering current, authoritative, objective data, information and knowledge to inform, support and underpin the evidence-based policy work of the College and Commission staff whilst curating a unique historical collection on the EU project itself open to all.

The EC Library offers guides featuring a curated selection of trusted information sources on EU policies, policymaking, country knowledge, and European integration. Its collections are discoverable to staff of the European Commission and other EU institutions via the Find-eR catalogue. External visitors specialising in EU affairs may consult the collections in the EC Library reading rooms by appointment.

The Publications Office of the European Union manages the EC Library.
