Biography Sven Egyedy is in charge of the Directorate-General for Digitalisation, Information Technology and Cybersecurity (DITEC) at the General Secretariat of the Council. Dr Egyedy comes from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) where he held the position of Director for Digitalisation, Cyber Defence and Digital and Data Policy. Previously, he worked as a law enforcement officer (Customs) and in several positions at the German Federal Ministries of Finance, Defence and Interior, and at Fusion for Energy (F4E) European joint undertaking for ITER and the development of fusion energy in France. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from Universität Duisburg-Essen, a Master of Law (LL.M.) from the Robert Gordon University in the UK, a state exam on defence technology, and a doctorate in social sciences from Universität Hildesheim in Germany. Dr Egyedy speaks German, English and French.
