BiographyCurrently serving his third term as Member of the European Parliament, Siegfried Mureșan is the European Parliament's co-rapporteur for the post-2027 long-term EU budget. He is Vice President of the European People’s Party (EPP) and Vice Chair of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, coordinating EPP’s activities related to the EU budget, regional development, agriculture, and budgetary control. He is Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Republic of Moldova and member of the European Parliament's Committees on Budgets, and on Economic and Monetary Affairs. Previously, he was the European Parliament's chief negotiator on the 2018 and 2024 EU Budgets, making him the only Romanian MEP to hold this position twice. He negotiated the legislation establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the RePowerEU Chapter, and the Reform and Growth Facility for Moldova. He was also the European Parliament's chief negotiator for the adoption of the euro by Croatia and the financing of the European Green Deal.Through his work, he aims to contribute to a stronger, more resilient, and united European Union.
