DepartmentDirectorate-General for Digital Services Biography Roberto Barcellan was born in Padua (Italy). He studied Statistics at the University of Padua and he obtained his Ph.D in Statistics applied to Economics from the same university. In 1999 he joined the European Commission. Currently he is leading the Unit in charge of Cybersecurity Policy Implementation in the Digital Services department of the European Commission (DIGIT), the entity in charge of internal cybersecurity policies, risk management and compliance monitoring and cyber-awareness. In his career, he covered several management positions in Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Commission (National Accounts; Price and Housing Statistics; Methodology and Corporate Architecture; European Statistical System Vision Implementation Programme) and in DIGIT (Innovation, web solutions and tools; Corporate Knowledge and Decision Making Solutions; Data Services – data, collaboration solutions and web presence)
