Average session duration

A session is defined as a group of interactions one user takes before a given inactivity time out is reached (30 minutes with Europa Analytics). This means that whatever a user does on a website before they leave for at least 30 minutes is considered one session. The average session duration is defined as follows:

Individual session duration is calculated differently depending on whether there are engagement hits (e.g. using the play button on a video) on the last page of a session. If there are no engagement hits on the last page, then the duration is:
