Description

A study conducted on behalf of the European Commission, evaluating the results of the mapping of EU outreach networks and develops recommendations aimed at strengthening network cooperation and developing synergies in terms of outreach and communication impact.

For the purposes of this study, an EU outreach network is defined as a "physical or virtual body/organisation (including relays and contact centres/points at the EU and/or national level) whose mandate includes supporting the EU in its Member States in implementing EU policies, and/or managing EU Funds and EU programmes, and/or providing guidance and advice, and/or communicating on the EU in general to EU citizens or specific target groups".

The study provides the evidence base to support future initiatives of the Commission to rationalise and improve the communication functions of EU outreach networks and make them more efficient, accessible, and visible to citizens.
