The tracker shows how the EU is turning its prosperity and competitiveness priorities into action. It includes legislative measures, which become binding EU law once adopted, and non-legislative initiatives, such as strategies and action plans that guide policy and set future directions. It is based on Commission work programmes for 2025 and 2026. Legislative items Legislative items create new laws or update existing ones, like regulations, directives or decisions that are legally binding for EU countries. These proposals go through a formal decision-making process, generally involving the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the EU, before they can take effect. AdoptedItems in this section have completed the interinstitutional legislative process and are published in the Official Journal of the EU. Each entry includes a link to the final text and, if available, a press release or a webpage with further information. 11 December 2025Second omnibus package on investment simplificationadopted text of the Regulation (link available soon) amending the InvestEU, European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI), Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), and Horizon Europe regulations 29 September 2025First omnibus package on sustainability (partially adopted)adopted text amending the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) Regulation18 July 2025Third omnibus package, including on small mid-caps and removal of paper requirements (partially adopted)adopted text amending the Regulation as regards obligations of economic operators concerning battery due diligence policies14 April 2025First omnibus package on sustainability (partially adopted)adopted text amending the Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSRD) and Corporate Due Diligence (CSDDD) directives ProposedThis section lists the initiatives that the European Commission has formally proposed and sent to the European Parliament and Council for their adoption. 20 November 2025Revision of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulationpress releaseproposal to amend the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and the Regulation on Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPS) and to repeal Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1288 | procedureSupplementary pensions package (legislative part)press releaseproposal to amend the Pan-European Personal Pension Product (PEPP) Regulation | procedureproposal to amend the Directive on Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision (IORP) II | procedure19 November 2025Digital packagepress releaseproposal to simplify the implementation of harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (Digital omnibus on AI) | procedureproposal to simplify digital legislation (Digital omnibus) | procedureEuropean business walletpress releaseproposal of the regulation | procedure25 June 2025EU space actpress releaseproposal of the regulation | procedure17 June 2025Review of the securitisation frameworkpress releaseproposal to amend the Securitisation Regulation | procedureproposal to amend the Capital Requirements Regulation | procedure21 May 2025Third omnibus package, including on small mid-caps and removal of paper requirementspress releaseproposal to amend regulations as regards the extension of certain mitigating measures available for small and medium-sized enterprises to small mid-cap enterprises and further simplification measures | procedureproposal to amend directives as regards the extension of certain mitigating measures available for small and medium-sized enterprises to small mid-cap enterprises and further simplifying measures | procedureproposal to amend directives as regards digitalisation and common specifications | procedureproposal to amend regulations as regards digitalisation and common specifications | procedure*Part of the package adopted on 10 July 2025First omnibus package on sustainabilitypress releaseproposal to amend the Audit, Accounting, and Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSRD) directives | procedure*Parts of the package adopted on 3 April and 10 September 2025Show 4 more items PlannedThis section lists the initiatives the Commission plans to propose and adopt.
