Spotlight on Women in Cybersecurity

A one day event to raise awareness about the need of women talents in cyber security is organised by the European Commission on the 8th of March 2019. It will focus on the skillset necessary to work in cybersecurity and suggest concrete actions to encourage women to consider a career in this field.

The event, organised in the context of the corporate Cyber Aware program of the Commission, is a follow-up of the first discussion about cyber skillson Women's International Day 2018. It is also part of the Women in Digital program, supported by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.

This time the agenda will focus on specialised programmes and concrete actions to enhance female participation in the male dominated area of cyber security. There will be a workshop on cyber careers for women in the European Commission as well as an opportunity to listen and interact with women, who are cyber security professionals and role models in the field of cybersecurity

The event will be open by Commissioner Mariya Gabriel and will bring together speakers with expertise in different areas related to cyber security from public and private sector and academia.
