This time it’s the French-German TV channel ARTE that produced a one-hour documentary about the impressive amount of trash in our atmosphere. This extremely visual documentary offers amazing images filmed from the International Space Station. It shows not only the debris, but also the different solutions researchers have developed to catch them such as nets and harpoons. The documentary is available online until 17 March 2019. RemoveDebris claims a “low cost debris removal mission”. The project has been particularly successful in meeting its goals with a relatively low budget compared to standard space missions (7 million Euro EU contribution out of a total 15 million Euro budget).
