DRIVER+, the largest security project in terms of EU contribution (€33 million) managed by REA, is featured in a Euronews video. The main goal of the project is to support the development and uptake of innovative solutions by civil protection authorities and firefighters dealing with natural and man-made hazards. Launched in May 2014, DRIVER+ aims to deliver and make a sustainable pan-European Test-Bed for Crisis Management to enable stakeholders to test and evaluate new products, tools, processes or organisational solutions by April 2020. Another key result will be the creation of a Portfolio of Solutions to document and share data and experiences of innovative solutions to benefit the entire Crisis Management community in Europe. According to Project Officer Guillaume Lapeyre, "after a difficult start the project is now on its way to making a significant impact and in the long term, improve the capability development of civil protection authorities, first responders and civil society organisations across the EU and improve our response capacity in future disasters."
