Experts and high profile figures will come to Brussels on November 7 to discuss the best ways to finance the transition from carbon to more sustainable energy sources. With negotiations on the regulatory aspects of the clean energy transition ongoing, notably with the so-called Clean Energy for All Europeans package, this High Level Conference, organised jointly by the European Commission and the European Parliament, will centre around the non-regulatory aspects. For Europe to lead the energy transition, significantly more investment will be crucial. It is estimated that in order to reach the proposed EU 2030 energy and climate targets, about €379 billion investments are needed annually over the 2021 – 2030 period: mostly in energy efficiency, renewable energy generation and infrastructure. Bringing together political leaders, policy makers, the investor community, energy market participants and other stakeholders, the Conference will discuss how multiple stakeholders can act together, and how best to foster investment in the energy transition. Detailed agenda of the event The conference takes place in the Parliament Hemicycle in Brussels from 8:30 until 18:30. You can follow it live.
