22 projects funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and managed by the Research Executive Agency (REA) will take part in this year’s EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF). Transfer of Industry 4.0 from research to industry Thursday 3 September, 12:00 – 13.30 This session will highlight approaches for the transfer of industry 4.0 topics to industry. Three EU-funded projects (SME 4.0 - Industry 4.0 for SMEs, OpenInno Train, MAKERS ) will present their findings on how to improve manufacturing processes and logistics and how to develop fintech and cleantech. Challenges and opportunities of collaborative design: case studies for electric and automated mobility Thursday 3 September, 16:15 – 17:45 This session will present recent developments in electric and automated vehicles through innovative collaborative design approaches. Four projects (ITEAM, CLOVER, PBNv2, ECODRIVE) funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions will highlight cross-sectoral partnership benefits for innovation in intelligent, user- and environment-friendly road mobility. Network user security and privacy solutions in the new era of artificial intelligence and GDPR Thursday 3 September, 18:00 – 19:30 This session will highlight cutting-edge research led by four EU-funded projects (INCOGNITO, SECONDO, BEHAPI, MASTER) on new emergingdigital technology challenges that our society faces, such as cybercrime and user privacy in mobility data. Healthy food - improving optimal consumer choices Friday 4 September, 12:00 – 13.30 This session will present the achievements of five EU-funded projects (FORMILK, AnNuVitE, MAST4HEALTH, mtFOIE GRAS, FoodSMART) involving academic and industrial European partners that are frontrunners in developing food solutions with a positive impact on human health. The EU and You: European Research Funding and Career Development Friday 4 September, 18.00 – 19:30 This session aims to present EU funding opportunities for first-class, up-and-coming researchers of any nationality, to advance their careers in Europe, through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the European Research Council. Dario FASSINI, a former MSCA-IF fellow who did his fellowship at Cherry BioTech in France, who subsequently recruited him, will present the career benefits of the MSCA programme. Nanomedicine – tiny tools to beat the giant cancer challenge Saturday 5 September, 12:00 – 13:30 The session will highlight the scientific achievements of three EU-funded projects (VAHVISTUS, INPACT, MAGNAMED) working on novel anti-cancer medicines based on nanotechnologies and show how these new nano tools can offer “mega therapies”. Innovative approaches to user-centered development of Healthcare solutions Sunday 6 September, 12:00 – 13:30 In this session, two EU-funded projects (REMIND, MEDLEM and Lifebots Exchange) working on user-centered design of innovative healthcare solutions will highlight the positive impact of engaging users and using living labs in healthcare sector. The EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) is a biennial, pan-European science conference dedicated to scientific research and innovation.
