Eleventh edition of the Juvenes Translatores contest for schools

It's our pleasure to announce that the 2017 edition of the Juvenes Translatores translation contest for secondary schools, will take place on 23 November.

You can already consult the rules wchich are published on the contest website.

This year, as we celebrate languages in the European Union we also celebrate 60 years since the European Community was created in Rome in 1957. The very first regulation adopted in 1957 stipulated that all EU official languages have equal value.

The registration for the contest will open at noon, Brussels time on 1 September.

The aim of this annual translation contest is to promote, recognise, and reward language learning and to inspire young linguists. The ability to speak foreign languages is a major asset for young people entering the job market. In an increasingly connected and global economy, employers actively seek multilingual candidates capable of adapting to and thriving in an international context.
