Get involved

Discover various ways you can get involved with the European Commission, from engaging in policymaking to applying for EU funding or jobs.

Contribute actively to our work

Engaging with the Commission on EU policy

Actively participate in shaping European policies by sharing views on EU policy and law with us.

You can have your say on Commission initiatives and by doing so, help to fine-tune preparatory work on EU legislation at different stages of the process. Roadmaps, draft acts, proposals and adopted acts are usually open for feedback periods of 4 weeks.

The Citizen’s engagement platform is another way for you to engage. This is a dedicated space for engaging and debating on EU policies that affect us all. People can participate by posting contributions or by commenting or endorsing contributions from others. These contributions feed into European Citizens' Panels and input into the European policymaking process.

You can help to initiate new proposals. If you want the EU to take action on a particular issue, you can launch a citizens’ initiative calling on the European Commission to propose new EU legislation on that issue. You can also submit a petition to ask the European Parliament to look into an issue that affects you, or complain about how an EU law is being applied.

Applying for funding and tender contracts

There are a wide variety of EU funding opportunities you can apply for as a citizen or a business. Learn how to apply by finding out what you should know before you start applying, as well as information about who can get funding, the application process and the award procedure.

Use the EU Funding & Tenders Portal to find which opportunities are currently available, find partners or to submit a proposal.

Applying for jobs

Interested in working for the EU? The EU offers employment in various staff categories: permanent officials, contract and temporary staff, seconded national experts, trainees and others. Job applications are managed by the European Personnel Selection Office, EPSO.
