The EIC Pilot in FET Open takes off

Four SMEs from the Future Emerging Technologies (FET) Innovation Launchpad have started the process of receiving 12 days of business coaching as part of their grant package. The SMEs have already received feedback on several areas where their projects can be strengthened.

These areas mainly encompassed patenting products, defining a more structured market approach strategy and designing a new organization model to improve Innovation Management Capacity.

Future business coaching sessions may focus on several areas, such as business development, organisation and efficiency, and cooperation and partnership.

Key account managers from the Enterprise Europe Network located in the SMEs’ respective regions are the business coaches. The coaching consistently follows the "sense and solve" philosophy, encouraging delegates to gain a complete understanding of the context of their company and the challenges they face. It also empowers management to overcome similar future challenges on their own.

The launch of the business coaching follows a recent presentation delivered by the European Innovation Council Pilot at a REA Unit A5-led workshop back in January. The initial FET Innovation Launchpad (ILP) workshop was effective in discussing innovation management, synergies and best practises among the 16 FET ILP projects; as well as exposing projects to ideas and concepts critical to the commercialisation process.

The 4 SMEs involved in the business training are:
Single Quantum BV, FET ILP project QDET
Re-Compose, FET ILP project I2C8
Seluxit, FET ILP project CASEK
IONFLYFET ILP project DMS
