Commissioner Simson attends Energy Transition Conference and EuroAsia Interconnector ceremony

The Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, arrives today in Cyprus to meet with national authorities and energy sector stakeholders. This afternoon, she will meet the Minister for Energy, Natasa Pilides, and they will then meet together with representatives of several energy companies operating in Cyprus.

Tomorrow morning, the Commissioner will deliver a speech at the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) Energy Transition Conference and take part in a panel discussion with Minister Pilides; the Energy Minister of Egypt, Tarek El Molla; the Energy Minister of Greece, Kostas Skrekas, the Energy Minister of Jordan, Saleh A. Al-Kharabsheh; and the EMGF Secretary-General, Osama Mobarez. She will meet thereafter the President of the Cypriot Republic, Níkos Anastasiádis. In the evening, Commissioner Simson will attend a ceremony on the start of the construction of the EuroAsia Electricity Interconnector, alongside President Anastasiádis.
