The implementation of growth-enhancing reforms remains a key priority for the EU. The European Commission provides support to Lithuania via the Structural Reform Support Programme with an assessment of the country's pension system. The result of the support, a report presented yesterday at Lithuania's Ministry of Social Security and Labour, provides an in-depth analysis of the Lithuanian "State Pensions", which are special regime pensions available to different groups and individuals. The report provides a detailed assessment of these pension schemes, identifies options for reform, and estimates the expected impact on pension adequacy and fiscal sustainability. The objective is to contribute to a consistent, equitable, transparent and fiscally sustainable pension system. Details Publication date30 November 2018LocationBrussels
