The European Commission will support Romania to implement its Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) with a new project funded under the Technical Support Instrument (TSI). The new TSI project has been launched on 8 March 2022 and will be delivered in collaboration with the World Bank over 2 years. The project will support the Government of Romania by providing advice for putting in place effective inter-institutional coordination, and enhancing monitoring, and reporting mechanisms for the RRP implementation. It will also provide support to sectorial ministries to strengthen implementation, monitoring, and reporting under thematic RRP components, including establishing early-alert systems to identify deviations, delays and suggesting corresponding remedial actions. The project also assists with mapping technical assistance needs in support of the Romanian RRP. Lastly, it will provide recommendations on establishing the financial management, flow of funds and data reporting mechanisms needed to support the overall implementation. This new project builds upon the work done in 2021 under the Technical Support Instrument when the Commission supported the Romanian authorities in preparing the national RRP.
