“Better ask one question too much than too little”

RISE

This was one of the pieces of advice over 150 participants representing 71 projects received during the RISE Coordinators’ Day on 17-18 January.

RISE coordinators funded under the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) 2018 call were assured that they could count on the support of their Project Officers for the implementation of their projects. “Better ask one question too much than too little”, encouraged Bodo Richter, from the European Commission’s Directorate General Education & Culture.

Most of the audience asked questions about staff eligibility and record keeping for the secondments. "The rules are flexible and depend on national laws and institutional practices," clarified Laura Apostol, Head of Sector at the Research Executive Agency, which coordinated the event.

The meeting ran smoothly, with an excellent exchange of information and networking among the participants, who were also able to approach the two National Contact points present (UK and CZ) for discussion.

The Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) supports short-term mobility of research and innovation staff at all career levels. RISE is part of the MSCA family of programme areas, and the Research Executive Agency manages it.

The next 2019 call is now open for submission of proposals. Deadline to apply: 2 April.
