Marc Orlando is Professor of Translation and Interpreting Studies and program director in the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University, in Sydney. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in France, before earning his doctoral degree in T&I Studies from Monash University, Melbourne.
His research interests and publications focus on translator and interpreter education, on the synergies between practice, research and training, and on the impact of new technologies on the interpreting profession. He is also a strong advocate for graduate employability and for industry engagement and partnerships. He sits on the editorial committee of several interpreting journals.
Marc currently acts as Vice-President on the Board of CIUTI. He is also an active conference interpreter, member of AIIC, and was the coordinator of its Research Committee in 2018-2022.
