Outlook

In 2022, the Commission will continue important enforcement work in the area of internal market, industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs.

The Commission will:

  • work further on enforcement of the Late Payment Directive (Directive2011/7/EU). In 2021, the Commission launched actions to increase effectiveness of this Directive  thus improving the liquidity of small and medium size enterprises;
  • work to ensure conformity of national transposition measures with Concessions and Public Procurement Directives (Directives 2014/23/EU, 2014/24/EU, 2014/25/EU);
  • focus on ensuring that Member States have implemented correctly the Proportionality Test Directive (Directive 2018/958). Infringement procedures were already initiated in December 2021 and the Commission will follow up and might initiate other infringement procedures.
